A dream job 30 years in the making

Uncharted Wild has been in operation since summer 2015. It came about as the decades long dream job of myself, owner Adam Bornt. My original career aspirations were to open my own Jurassic Park when I was six years old, but upon learning that wasn’t a real thing, pivoted to reptiles.

Growing up on shows like The Crocodile Hunter, The Jeff Corwin Experience, and Zoboomafoo, I’ve always been interested in wildlife. As a child I would do animal presentations with stuffed animals for my family- only, in my youth I didn’t understand the notion of “attention span” and would go on for hours.

Upon reaching adulthood I would attend SUNY Oswego for zoology while interning and volunteering at various zoological facilities- including living in Australia for a few months to work at their national zoo. Shortly after graduation the paperwork was filed and Uncharted Wild was born!

Our Mission

Uncharted Wild’s goal is to get people excited and interested in exotic animals, whether they’re cute and fluffy like an endangered chinchilla or a bit less loved like carpet pythons. We want to get as many kids *AND* adults as we can thinking reptiles and other critters are cool, not something to be feared.

Every time we do a show the goal is not just to educate but also getting people laughing, having fun. If you’re smiling and laughing, you’re guaranteed to be less afraid. We’ve had thousands and thousands of members of the public over the last ten years try touching or holds snakes, lizards, and our more creepy crawly critters—so I’d say we’ve been pretty successful so far!
